The Azure 220 is a boat likely to please anyone looking for performance, room and luxury, in addition to style. The 220 also has a sophisticated laminated stringer system in the hull for high strength and a quiet performance. Key Features Large stern ski platform Rear-area sink Freshwater shower nozzle Integrated boarding steps fore and aft Wraparound windshield Changing room These days, savvy boat buyers are looking for flexibility and luxury when making their next boat purchase, and this '06 Azure 220 is an excellent example. Just as SUV’s and crossover vehicles have become the big players in automobiles, boats that offer a wealth of features and a wide range of uses, are what consumers want. People moving to deckboats will find many great features on the Azure 220, but wrapped around a sleek hull and luxurious interior more in common with sportboats. At dockside, the Azure 220 impresses right away with its sleekly designed hull and beautiful red finish. While a roomy boat, it does not look at all ungainly, instead, it has the appearance of moving while sitting peacefully at dock. Getting onboard is a snap from the stern with its integrated boarding steps, which gracefully curve from the rear of the boat into the cockpit. Access is made easy also by the Azure 220’s large stern swim and ski platform. At the bow, a recessed rail wraps forward to a built-in boarding ladder with its own storage compartment. Docking lights flank the bow along the gunnels. While other deckboats have this feature, the designers integrated the lights and ladder in an elegant fashion. Wrap-around seats at the bow are well padded and feature convenient cup holders in logical locations and nicely built-in. Underneath the seats are plenty of dry storage bins. You will be happy to note that no wood is used the seat construction or throughout the boat. Premium stainless steel fittings, latches and cleats are used throughout as well. I particularly like the support struts on the wrap-around windshield near the walkthrough. These supports follow the edge of the walkthrough and can be used as handholds. Amidships, on the port side passenger console, there is a large walk-in changing room/head complete with a freshwater shower and sink. The helm is beautifully laid out with a wraparound instrument panel featuring easy to read black on white gauges. Rocker switches and circuit breakers fill out the rest of the panel. A tilting upscale-appearing steering wheel adds more class. Both the passenger and captain’s chairs are premium seats with flip up seat cushions. The seats can also move forward and back as well as swivel. The main cockpit seats are arranged in a wrap-around “L” pattern. Under the port side cushion is a spot for a cooler. But the rear portion has a special convertible feature. By simply pulling the backrest forward, it folds down to form a huge sundeck that is large enough for two people to stretch out. Engine access is from the sundeck/seat. Hydraulic struts lift the whole section from the floor up as one unit providing terrific access to the engine compartment, which was nicely finished as you would expect in an upscale sportboat. As in other premium boats, snap in carpet is in place, as also a really cool rear-area sink and entertainment area with a freshwater shower nozzle. The overall fit and finish is excellent. This speaks well to the construction and engineering design. ide On the water, the Azure 220 is smooth and largely unflappable. It handles sharply and takes waves and wakes without shuddering the passengers. A good portion of the handling and wake performance is due a stepped-chine hull design that was engineered specifically to add a good measure of handling and stability to the boat. The 200 also has a sophisticated laminated stringer system in the hull for high strength and a quiet performance. The Azure 220 features high-grade marine wiring throughout for years of performance and durability. Top quality materials we observed throughout this boat. Equipped with a 260 horsepower Mercruiser 5.0MPI, you can expect top end speeds north of 45 mph while you cruise at a sedate 25 mph. Overall, the Azure 220 is a boat likely to please anyone looking for performance, room and luxury, but especially if you are looking for a boat with some real style. It has numerous crew-friendly features and all the room any family would need for a great day on the water. The trailer is not included, but available if needed. Owner is moving up and anxious, bring offers. This Azure is in Fort Myers.
