1968 50 (ft.) Columbia 50 Sloop
General InformationListing# 18939
Designed by Bill Tripp, this is one of the prettiest Classic designs you will find combining great performance and interior comfort. The Columbia 50 has been known as a hard driving ocean racer/cruiser winning many first places in big league races. She has a sea kindly hull and offers a superb ride, with flush deck and a divided cockpit to separate the helmsman from the hustle of the sheet tenders, she was truly designed with racing in mind. Yet the interior is very comfortable and well appointed as a cruising sailboat. This sloop rigged version is the standard layout and has been lovingly maintained by one owner. She has many upgrades as well as a huge sail inventory, many of which are nearly brand new. She is equipped for world cruising with hydrovane self steering, SSB radio, optional Ham radio, two GPS with charts, and she is lightning grounded throughout.
Forward private stateroom sleeps 2; main salon sleeps 4 w/ 2 upper& 2 lower berths and a large separate shower/head dressing room; immediately to port but forward of the companionway is a large U shaped dinette, opposite a spacious U shaped galley. Dinette drops down to sleep 2. Just forward of galley to starboard is a nav station which is opposite a large hanging locker. There are large hanging lockers and storage spaces separating the forward stateroom, salon and galley areas to port. The galley has a large double sink, microwave, stove with oven, and huge freezer/refrigerator that is well chilled with a Grunnert holding plate system. A 6 gallon hot water heater and pressurized water system is complimented by a manual sea water faucet. A wood and coal burning fireplace keeps you warm in cold weather and adds a charming ambiance to the salon. FULL EQUIPMENT LIST AND MORE PHOTOS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST
