Jersey Yachts was founded in 1954 by Fred McCarthy, and the company remained a family-owner operation until purchased in late 1989. The transition to fiberglass began in 1969 with the introduction of the Jersey 31 - a landmark boat for the company which was soon offered in seven different configurations. Jersey has always been a limited production builder of traditional sport fishermen. Still a privately held company, their designs to date have been drawn by the founder, Fred McCarthy. Owner of this vessel is retiring from boating and taking offers.
